The Art of Alzheimer's presents:

The Artist Within

January 7, 2016 through February 26, 2016 at City Hall Lobby Galleries and Anne Focke Galleries

In the first exhibition of its kind in Seattle The Artist Within will feature surprising, delightful and inspiring art that will open hearts and minds to a different way of thinking about dementia and enable us to see that - though they have changed - people with dementia are still here living with dignity, creativity and joy.

Presented in cooperation with the City of Seattle Office of Arts and Culture, the Department of Neighborhoods and 4Culture, the Artist Within will be held at City Hall's Lobby Gallery & Ann Focke Galleries located at 600 Fourth Avenue, Seattle. The Exhibition will run January 7 through February 26, 2016, Monday through Friday from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm.  The Opening Reception will take pace on Friday, January 7th from 4-6 pm.

The exhibition is free and open to all.  It will feature fascinating artwork by people 60 to 100 years of age who live with dementia. Throughout the seven weeks of the exhibition we will present a series of activities developed in concert with community partners - catalysts for knowledge, empathy, creativity and involvement.  These events and programs are listed below and can also be viewed on the Momentia Calendar.
