Ignite the Mind - Dementia Inclusive Series

Edmonds Center for the Arts (ECA) offers an award-winning Dementia-Inclusive Series, providing free creative and social enrichment programs for individuals experiencing early-stage memory loss, their caregivers, families and friends. Launched in 2015, the series is a collaborative effort involving senior services organizations, eldercare and memory care professionals, and arts groups in the Puget Sound region.

ECA is committed to providing a space where community members experiencing memory loss feel welcome and valued; where their creative contributions are celebrated; and where joyful quality tie can be sprint with care partners and loved ones.

Please arrive by 10:00am for breakfast and check-in. Class starts promptly at 10:30am with a group warm up. After that we will separate into two groups, Group A for individuals experiencing memory loss and Group B for Caregivers. Session A for individuals experiencing memory loss will begin at 10:40am in the lobby with visual artist Valerie Carroll and Session B for care givers will take place at 10:40am in the Greenroom and/or mainstage with Dez'Mon Omega. Both groups will regroup in the lobby for a group share at around 11:35am. Each session will have 4-6 volunteers assisting students experiencing memory loss, so that care givers can relax and work on art creations with their peers.

If you or someone you know is interested in attending, we still have seats available! Caregivers are welcome to attend as a solo participants and/or with student experiencing memory loss.

Friendly faces you will see are:
