Opening Reception-The Artist Within Exhibit

  • City Hall's Lobby Gallery & Anne Focke Gallery 600 4th Avenue Seattle (map)

In the first exhibition of its kind in Seattle, The Artist Within will feature art exclusively by people living with dementia ages 60 to 100.  The art is surprising, delightful and inspiring.  It will open hearts and minds to a different way of thinking about dementia, enabling us to see that – though they have changed – they are still here living with dignity, creativity and joy.

The opening reception will take place on Friday January 7 from 4-6pm.

The Artist Within Exhibit will run from January 7 – February 26 from 7am-6pm at Seattle City Hall Lobby and Anne Focke Galleries.  Throughout the seven weeks of the exhibition a series of activities developed in concert with community partners will be presented that will act as catalysts for knowledge empathy, creativity and involvement.

The opening reception and exhibit is free and open to the public.
