Momentia at the Design Festival

  • Occidental Park Seattle (map)

This weekend, one of the nine installations displayed at the Seattle Design Festival delivers a powerful dementia-friendly message. This "Momentia-themed" installation, created by a team of community members, designers and contractors, provides an opportunity to engage with art while inviting the general public to recognize that persons living with dementia exhibit incredible strengths and remain a vital part of our community. Art on display was created by members of the Gathering Place and Elderwise. Feel free to stop by the installation between 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. on Saturday or Sunday, 9/6 - 9/7, at Occidental Square: S Main St & Occidental Ave S. Look for the "Momentia" exhibit and someone in a orange/red tie-dyed Momentia shirt! You are welcome to just enjoy the art, or stick around and advocate for a dementia-friendly Seattle by sharing your own stories and perspectives with others who pass by the display!
