How do I help build the movement?

Momentia grows as everyone in the community works together! The options are endless, but here are some ideas for getting involved:

·      Spread the word about Momentia in your neighborhood, workplace, congregation or more! The movement grows as more people know about it and have the opportunity to get involved. This can be as simple as telling someone else about this website or inviting a friend to an Alzheimer’s Café. If you would like Momentia promotional cards to pass out in your community, contact one of the stewardship team members.

·      Volunteer for one of the dementia-friendly programs listed here. To get involved, reach out to the contact person listed to explore volunteer opportunities. Options could include things like working one-on-one with a participant, doing outreach, or offering your own unique talents and skills.

·      Help start a dementia-friendly program in your neighborhood. Some of the most unique opportunities – like the theater improv workshops through Taproot Theatre and the gardening volunteer program at Rainier Beach Urban Farm and Wetlands – have been the ideas of persons living with dementia and their family members. Do you have your own brilliant idea? Here are some quick tips to move it forward.

·      Donate to support any of these opportunities or Momentia as a whole. If you’d like to donate to an individual program, reach out to the contact person for that program. If you’d like to donate to Momentia as a whole, the stewardship team accepts donations to cover costs for things like promotional materials and larger events. Donations are managed through our fiscal sponsor Full Life Care. Please contact Nora Gibson, Executive Director for Full Life Care, at norag@fulllifecare.org.
